UniDOS Notes -- Version 1.27 (Z) -- July 14, 1988 Because UniDOS is constantly changing, please be sure to send in your registration card so we can inform you of new versions and products. NOTES FOR Z80 COPROCESSOR VERSION OF UniDOS The version of UniDOS that is supplied with the Z80 coprocessor card does not contain support for a V Series chip or the Z80 interpretive mode. These modes of operation are not needed with the coprocessor card and any references to them in the manual should be ignored. UniDOS will still operate as described in the manual. PROGRAMS THAT WILL NOT RUN WITH UniDOS Osborne 1 Supercalc - The version of Supercalc that was bundled with the Osborne 1 computer will not work with UniDOS because it was written to directly access the Osborne 1 screen memory. Morrow NewWord - The Version of NewWord that was bundled with Morrow computers is modified to work only on a Morrow machine. This version of NewWord will do a BDOS version check call before saving or printing a file. UniDOS will tell NewWord that it is CP/M 2.2 compatible. NewWord will then assume that it is running on a Morrow MD2 or MD3. NewWord will then try to turn on the Morrow ROM and check the values of a couple of locations in the ROM. Since the ROM does not exist in a non-Morrow machine, NewWord will terminate when it doesn't find the proper values. UniForm-PC Notes -- Release 2.16 -- July 14, 1988 Because UniForm-PC is constantly changing, please be sure to send in your registration card so we can inform you of new versions and products. After UniForm-PC is installed, it will create a new drive letter on your computer. This often leads to some confusion for new users. Please read Section 3.1 before using UniForm-PC. It may save you a call to our technical support line. To change menus in the UNIFORM program, the menu number must be followed by a RETURN. This isn't mentioned in the manual because the UNIFORM program has recently been altered to support more than 9 menus. If you use the UNIFORM program with command line options, make sure that you include a /R after specifying a new menu number. Superbrain format users: If you get a read error when you try to use a Superbrain format diskette, run the FIXSUPER program. The errors occur because the Superbrain computer initializes its diskettes improperly. The FIXSUPER program is self documenting and will make your diskettes readable by UniForm-PC. If you want to use Apple SoftCard or NorthStar format CP/M diskettes with UniForm-PC, you'll need to install a MatchPoint-PC card in your computer before those formats will appear in the UniForm-PC menu. MatchPoint-PC cards are available from your dealer or Micro Solutions direct. If you want to add an 8 inch drive to your system, you will need a Micro Solutions CompatiCard diskette controller. CompatiCard is a half-size floppy disk controller card for the IBM PC, XT, AT, or compatibles. It can accomodate up to four drives in any combination of 5 inch (48 TPI, 96 TPI or high capacity AT), 8 inch, and 3.5 inch models. It also supports single density on all drives and can be used in computers with non-removeable diskette controllers. Thank you. Micro Solutions Computer Products
