Altair-Duino Pro

General

This is a cycle-accurate recreation of the original Altair 8800. What does that mean? It means the Intel 8080 CPU is emulated, as is some of the basic I/O (disk drives, serial ports, etc.) but everything else is REAL Altair machine code and CP/M that was created more than 40 years ago! [1]

If you want to delve deeper into the „Altair Simulation“, you will find endless information and software on the download page of ALTAIRCLONE.COM. This is a site of Mike Douglas (DeRamp.com)

What Mike Douglas has gathered here on the subject of Altair is simply ingenious. You can also buy an Altair 8800 clone here for $621.

There is also the Altair 8800 simulator by Peter Schorn. Here, too, there is a wealth of information and software.

The Arduino Due fits!

Around 300 solder points set! That's enough for today.

Done!

The assembly and soldering worked wonderfully. If you take your time and don't rush it - it's supposed to be fun - you'll need about 6 to 8 hours in total. Maybe a little less!
