Janice Batter Kay and Michael Batter are responsible for the design of the Kaypros. They came up with (at least) three designs: Kaycomp II resp. Kaypro II, Robie (‘83) and Robie (’85).
Both run an architecture firm called Batter Kay Associates in California (then and still today). In addition to these computer designs, they also designed three buildings on the NLS/Kaypro company premises in the mid-1980s.
Below I have created simple design views for the various Kaypro models to the best of my knowledge. For the floppy drives, I have (for convenience) used the views from the Kaypro technical manual (1484-F, 1985). The designs were created with Affinity Designer for macOS.
